Description

Note to all buyers:
All USPS economy (1st Class) shipments are subject to delays of up to 10-15 days. This issue is widespread throughout eBay and other mail order systems. We are working closely with USPS and eBay to sort out the issues. We are offering Priority Mail and FedEx as an option for an added cost. These venues do not seem to be as affected by the crisis, but still subject to delays. U
ntil the end of the year,
USPS has added a surcharge to all of their shipments. Instead of increasing our prices to account for the added costs, we’ve suspended our volume discount.

Are you use to buying powder paint in jars? We were too. Why throw away those jars when you can refill them at less than the cost of buying another jar? So save your jars and buy refills here at The Jig Junkie; or if you just need to fill your fluid bed paint cups, then you don’t need jars, refill them with Jig Junkie’s paint refills.
According to industry experts, Pro-Tec powder paints are the most durable paints in the paint industry. These paints are packaged by weight, not volume, in small jars or resealable plastic bags. Buy the jars and then return for a refill at a lower price. The refill bags are intended for tackle crafters who already have purchased jars previously, own a fluid bed and/or powder paint spray system. Sorry, we are not selling fluid bed systems at this time; however, there is a multitude of videos on YouTube on how to build your own and even a few small businesses who specialize in these for those on a budget. Of course, you can also find the high-end versions and spend a couple of hundred.
Here’s what Component Systems says about their Pro-Tec powder
paint:
Imagine a paint with virtually no odor, no drying time, no
solvents and no mixing. Now imagine a brilliant, super-durable high gloss
finish in seconds! These qualities, coupled with a spectrum of 60+ colors to
choose from, have made Pro-Tec Powder Paint the obvious choice for thousands of
tackle manufacturers and consumers worldwide.
A paint that requires no primer coat and no gloss coat translates
into more money in your pocket. In fact, 2-oz. of Pro-Tec Powder Paint will
cover over 450 of your 3/8 oz. jigs. For the manufacturer, that means paying
about one cent per jig based on the 2-oz. price. Combine that with a painting
process that takes less than 20 minutes from start to finish and you’ve got an
unbeatable product.
Powder Paint Features
Super high gloss
One-coat coverage with no
white primer needed
No drying time
Non-flammable and
environmentally safe
Will not dry out
No mixing or settling
No odor
Easy cleanup
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS
Shipping costs are high unfortunately and eBay’s
settings are unforgiving when calculating costs. Pricing is based on weight and
we have to set the weight for the largest package. We will readjust and
discount your shipping cost after your purchase. Upon completion of your
purchase, request a price adjusted invoice by using the “Request Total
From Seller” (see combined shipping above). The purchased items will
remain available until full payment is received. Contact us prior to purchasing
for a full estimate on shipping. We recommend you contact us before making your
purchase to get an estimate. Unless you need jars, we recommend you purchase
refill bags to save on shipping costs.

First
purchase – I’ll be back!
Review
by Jeff S. on 18 May 2020review stating First purchase – Ill be back!
Pro-Tec
paints are great and easy to work with. Just head your jig up with a lighter for
a few seconds then swish in the powder paint. I tap off the extra powder then
reheat a little just to get a glossy finish. I know you can bake them for more
permanent adhesion, but I find the initial coverage works just fine. I ordered
some different colors this time and was please they matched the color chart the
site.  I’ve already painted some jigs, I
use these for Walleye and Crappie. This paint is so easy to work with I even
made some half and half. Just paint the jig in the base color, then reheat just
a little more and dip the top part of the jig in another color. Very easy and
you end up with a nice solid painted jig.
This was my first purchase, so always skeptical. Was very pleased with prices,
prompt service and shipping. Package arrived sooner than anticipated, packaged
well. I’m adding Jig Junkie my go to list.
Great
product!!!
Review
by Rev F. on 25 Jun 2019 review stating Great product!!!
I have
had a hard time find jig with certain colors, finally found Pro-tec Powder
Paint on a search engine search and bought colors that have been hard for me to
find. This product is not only great, but easy to use and you have exactly what
you want and need, have built a great jig box and fellow anglers when they have
seen it, have asked me where I have found a color or another, for they have
been looking for it and just can’t find them. I have told them the product and
where to find it, originally was purchasing it on eBay, but now I purchase them
directly at the Jig Junkie website. Get some yourself, you will not be
disappointed!
The
BEST jig paint ever!
Review
by Stephen C. on 14 Apr 2020 review stating The BEST jig paint ever!
I have
been building and painting jig heads for years. I’ve tried different types of
paints including vinyl and Createx airbrush paints. These are great paints, but
Pro-Tec powder coating is not only easy to apply, but it’s durable and chip resistant.
I used to buy my powder paint at the BassPro Shop and a couple of online
vendors, but the problem I had was the selections were limited to only a few
color options. Jig Junkie has EVERY color produced by Component Systems
(Pro-Tec manufacturer) and the prices are better than anywhere else I have
found. For me, it was a no-brainer to make the switch to Jig Junkie.
Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Question:
How do you use the
paint?
Answer:
Vigorously shake the jar of paint to ensure it is well fluffed. Heat
your jig slightly over an open flame like a torch or candle for a few seconds,
then dip the heated jig into the fluffed powder for a 2-3 seconds. Then tap the
jig against the jar to knock off any excess powder. Hang your painted jig on a
drying rack. Once you have several jigs on your rack, place the rack in a pre-heated
oven (350F) for 20 minutes to cure the powder. You can do a search of YouTube
or Google for video instruction on powder paint applications. If you are going to
do large batches of jigs, we recommend using a fluid bed.
2. Question:
Do you offer
specially mixed powder paints?
Answer:
Not at this time, most paints have been custom mixed. If
you would like to mix your own, we recommend starting with small batches (1-oz
refill bags). If you come up with a new color, send a sample to us with the mix
ratios and we will forward it to Component Systems Inc.  If CSI adopts
your new color, we will send you one pound of the new color free of charge.
3. Question:
What is your refund
policy for Pro-Tec Paint and Glitters?
Answer:
We offer a 30-day full money back refund policy; however,
there are stipulations. Products must be returned in their original condition
with seals unbroken. If seals are broken, there will a 20% restocking fee
deducted from the refund plus a deduction for any used product based on weight.
Unfortunately, an item may arrive broken. If an item arrives broken, send us a
picture of the damaged item(s) and we will forward a replacement right away.
4. Question:
Do you offer powder
paint in bulk?
Answer:
Not at this time; however, occasionally we have an
overstock of some paint products and would be willing to provide you a discount
option. Just send us a message and let us know what coating you are looking
for.  We are an authorized distributor of CSI Powder Coating products and
we buy direct for you for a reasonable fee. There are minimums to consider.
 Contact us for details.
5. Question:
Other paint
retailers offer fluid beds for powder coating jigs and spoons, why can’t I get
them here?
Answer:
Fluid bed systems can be expensive, even at the wholesale
price. Most tackle crafters are on a strict budget. Some of these systems can
run in the 100’s of dollars. You can find some homemade systems on eBay for a
small cost that work okay, or you can search the Internet for plans and/or
instructions on how to build one yourself. This is what we did when we created
a four-bank system of two 3-inch and two 2-inch fluid beds in series.
Instead of an aquarium pump that you will see quite often, we used a small air
compressor that we use for spray painting.
